We're Hiring: Director of Music Ministries
The First Presbyterian Church of Everett is seeking a Director of Music Ministries to lead our worship and music program. We are searching for someone to energize and lead us into a fuller expression of worship through the direction of our choirs and other music programs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide primary worship service leadership on Sunday mornings and assist in preparation of music for special services throughout the year.
- Direct, coordinate, and schedule music for worship services with the Head of Staff, Organist, and other contributing musicians.
- Develop musical groups for various ages within the church and community.
- Develop musical abilities within the congregation, selecting and engaging outside musicians as needed (i.e., harps, pianist) in consultation with FPCE Worship Committee.
- Supervise maintenance of FPCE’s music library, bells and chimes, and choir robes.
- Schedule tuning and maintenance for church pianos, hand bells, and carillon.
- Attend staff meetings, FPCE Worship Committee meetings, and other church committees as needed.
- Prepare and oversee the FPCE Worship Committee budget.
- Ensure the music program is compliant with US copyright laws (CCLI).
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn the foundations of Reformed worship/ theology.
- Ability to work with others and lead as a team member.
- BA in music with emphasis in choral music preferred.
- Experience as a choir director.
- Proficiency in organ or piano preferred.
- Demonstrate a desire to teach others, effective worship planning and execution, self-motivation, and enthusiasm for developing a comprehensive church music program.
Compensation:
- Depending on experience - $25-30/hr., 15 hours a week, 48 weeks a year.
