First Time Visitor FAQ's

Welcome to First Presbyterian Church of Everett!
We are so excited that you’re considering a visit to our church. From the moment you walk through our doors, we want you to feel at home. You'll first see our greeters, who will welcome you with a warm smile. Our ushers are on hand to give you a worship bulletin and answer any questions you might have. After church, please join us in Westminster Hall right next to the sanctuary for a time of fellowship. Be sure to help yourself to a cup of coffee and a delicious snack.

What are your services like?
Our Sunday morning worship is a liturgical service filled with music, song and spoken word. We worship God through prayer, singing praise songs and hymns, and listening to teaching from Scripture. Our music is centered on our glorious 2060-pipe Balcom & Vaughan organ and our church choir, but frequently includes exciting special music and other instruments.

What should I wear?
At First Presbyterian, you will see people dressed anywhere from suits-and-ties to jeans and sneakers. And while we believe in honoring God's Word and our neighbors through modest and respectful attire, please don’t let matters of dress ever keep you from coming to our church.

How long will the services last?
Our services last about an hour, with a time of fellowship immediately following in Westminster hall right next to the sanctuary.

As a visitor, can I participate in communion?
The holy sacrament of communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. Everyone who professes to follow Christ is welcome to partake.

Am I going to be expected to give money?
Absolutely not! However, during each service there is a time to worship God through the giving of tithes and offerings. This is an act of worship for our members and friends (those who consider First Presbyterian their church home). As a guest, please do not feel any pressure or obligation to give.

What about my kids? Is there child care available?
Yes. childcare is available during worship and Sunday School.

Are your facilities handicap accessible?
Yes, the sanctuary can be accessed via a ramp at the south entrance (on Wall Street). Handicap parking is available in the church's alley parking lot, where you may also enter the church on the lower level. An elevator allows access to all floors in the church including the top floor where you will find the sanctuary. There is an area near the back of the sanctuary with flexible seating to accommodate wheelchairs and scooters. In addition, large print bulletins are available from our ushers for those that need them. And amplified devices are available to help those with hearing difficulty to better hear the service.

I have a few more questions. Where can I get answers?
Questions? Stop by the “Welcome Center" near the sanctuary either before or after service. There will be a friendly face there to help you. For answers to questions that you have before you arrive, you can contact our church office at (425) 259-7139 or by email at office@firstpreschurch.com
