FIRST PRESBYTERIAN WOMENS COORDINATING Committee

Presbyterian Women

The Presbyterian Women’s Coordinating Team work on numerous projects and activities. Sometimes, we are like the “church mouse” sneaking around improving our church surroundings i.e. labeling the cupboards in Westminster kitchen and painting the outside doors of the church blue! Some years ago, we started a prayer blanket/shawl program in which one is sent to a person that needs comforting for various reasons. Our First Presbyterian Women in the church have been wonderful knitting these shawls. So far, 200 have been sent to people around the United States and we continue to send them out almost weekly.

Christmas Tea:

A holiday tea is attended by 70-100 ladies bringing their own teacups in Westminster. Nadine Smith creates a wonderful menu. The group is always entertained from a local group. Judy Hutchison sets up a Christmas tree and collects hats, scarves & mittens. These items are distributed to local area schools before the holiday break.

Memorials & Receptions:

The Presbyterian Women oversee these events.
